The MSK MSO Research Group focuses on clinical research in various medical specialties of neurosurgical care, primary care, and pain management.

Led by principal investigators Dr. Kevin Yoo and Dr. Brar, our team includes students, physicians, and researchers who utilize a multidisciplinary approach in clinical and translational research to work towards optimizing patient outcomes and improving treatment efficacy.

Our work spans several complementary study designs, including :

Case reports and case series

In-depth examinations of instructive clinical cases that highlight complex presentations, diagnostic challenges, and innovative management strategies.

Systematic reviews and meta-analyses

Structured evaluations of the scientific literature to synthesize data on treatment options, prognostic factors, and patient outcomes in neurosurgery.

Retrospective clinical studies

Analyses of patient data to identify trends, risk factors, and outcomes, often conducted in partnership with hospitals, academic groups, and other research entities.

1. Research Membership ($11/week)

Join anytime and gain access to our neurosurgery research projects and papers. Perfect for students and international medical graduates (IMGs) eager to contribute to clinical and academic research in the field of neurosurgery.

2. Scholarship

Limited scholarships are available for students who want to join immediately. students must still pay for the Microsoft Teams license and HIPAA training.

Responsibilities for Research Trainees

Conduct Literature Reviews: summarize relevant research to support ongoing projects.

Assist with Data Collection and Analysis: help gather and analyze data for research.

Collaborate on Research Projects: work with the team to brainstorm, refine, and discuss research goals.

Contribute to Writing and Editing: draft and revise sections of research papers.

Ensure HIPAA Compliance: follow HIPAA guidelines when handling patient data.

Engage via Microsoft Teams: participate in team discussions and project updates.

Meet Deadlines: complete tasks on time and contribute to steady project progress.

Maintain Professionalism: communicate respectfully and maintain a collaborative environment.

Research Coordinator

Operating Room (OR) days International Medical Graduates (IMGs) seeking clinical experience and an understanding of the U.S. healthcare system prior to applying for U.S. residency.

This position will be offered only to those exceptional research trainees.

This position requires a minimum of 10 hours a week.

The Research Coordinator will be evaluated at the end of every month and asked to leave the program for inadequate performance, such as being unable to keep time commitments.
